Is it possible to get a job opening as a make up artist? Getting jobs as a make up artist can be a bit hard, but it is possible. Here er some generalt tips for your Job Applicants that might be useful for Make Up Artist too

How To Stand Out In A Crowd Of Job Applicants

The other night I saw a TV program discussing how the number of applications for holiday retail jobs is surging. But with most companies either drastically reducing seasonal help or eliminating it altogether, it’s a lot tougher to find that extra cash we all need so badly. One woman who was interviewed said she had applied to every single place she could think of and still hadn’t found work. She looked to be in her mid-40’s, not unattractive, wearing something akin to a polo shirt and casual pants with comfortable loafer-type shoes. Overall, her appearance was neat and clean. So what was she doing wrong? The instant I saw her I knew.

Let’s start with that tired old clich: dress for success. We’ve all heard it, but ask yourself how seriously you take it. Even if this woman were applying for a job at Wal-Mart - where the uniform actually is a polo and khakis - she ought to look credible and professional. Especially during the current weak economy, she ought to take care that her image - her visual rsum - is as strong and error-free as her paper rsum. You wouldn’t dream of submitting your rsum without first having it proofed by as many people as possible. So too with your appearance. Having an image that is state-of-the-art can make or break your career and with so many companies making cut-backs, and consumers in a panic over spending, you need every tool to get ahead and stay there.

Here are powerful tips for creating an image that says YOU are the one who will get the job done:

1. Choose Winning Colors
The darker the color, the higher the authority. Pastels have the opposite effect, causing you to look passive and powerless. (White is not a pastel.) Many of us find earthy colors from the Autumn palette appealing, but they usually end up making us look less dynamic. These include most shades of brown, beige, camel, moss green and dark olive green. Neon colors such as orange and lime green tend to look too flashy. Instead, choose rich colors like royal blue and magenta, which are classy and give the impression of sophistication and professionalism.

2. Choose Outfits that Suggest Power
Unlike men, we have plenty of clothing options and needn’t always wear suits. For instance, you can team a black skirt with a suit jacket in a bold color such as magenta, royal blue or purple. A navy blue suit looks great, but take care when pairing it with a white blouse that it doesn’t end up looking like a uniform. A white shell works well, or you can try a red or fuchsia blouse instead. You can wear black with abandon as long as you wear fairly bold accessories and lipstick (pinks, reds) so that your face is the focal point, not your clothing. A knee-length skirt is the most flattering and most authoritative length. Mid-calf skirts do not make you look thinner - they make you look matronly and less dynamic. Ankle-length skirts may be slimming, but they are also severe looking. If you must choose between an ankle-length skirt and pants, you’re probably better off with the pants.

3. Wear Bold Accessories
Bold accessories give a look of success and worldliness. Earrings are a must. Wide, elongated and chunky hoop earrings that resemble a large oval wedding band are good examples because they hug your face and are seen as part of you. Thin round hoops are not professional; they make most people think of gypsies or teenagers. Studs are fine, but they remain "neutral" and do not add power. Bold necklaces and pins are also good power accessories, but note that single-strand pearls and scarves very often look demure, not business-like. A note about shoes: keep them simple, clean and unobtrusive. Feet should not be noticed. If a potential employer or client feels compelled to look at your shoes, socks or stockings, something is wrong.

4: Wear Professional Makeup
According to the latest findings from Judith Waters, PhD, professor of psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, it pays to wear professional-looking makeup. In this study, resumes with photos attached were presented to 500 HR executives. Women with professional makeup were all awarded a salary range up to 18% higher than those who either wore inappropriate colors or no makeup at all.

5: Develop good posture
Develop good posture. It is worth a million dollars in terms of image. Stand up straight, take a deep breath and get a "proud chest." Maintain that posture, but let the shoulders relax a little when you exhale. You will look self-assured and successful! Along with a friendly smile, you will look self-assured and successful!

Honey and Skin Care

The use of honey in skin care products is becoming increasingly more popular as reports of its effectiveness are published.

There may be no better way to bring a smooth glow to your skin than by using skin care products containing honey. Honey’s ability to absorb and retain moisture make it an ideal ingredient in many cosmetics as it helps keep skin hydrated and fresh. In fact, history shows that ancient beauties regularly applied a mixture of honey and milk to the face to keep their skin looking young, radiant and smooth.

Honey’s natural antioxidant and antimicrobial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun’s rays while supporting the skin’s ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin. One advantage to using honey as a natural skin care ingredient is for the treatment of acne. Honey absorbs impurities from the pores in the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent. There is also an increasing number of honey products being introduced to the market for hair care, skin care, hand lotions, facial masks, moisturizers, wound care, etc.

One company that is capitalizing on the use of honey in skin care products is Honeymark International, which utilizes a special kind of honey found only in the New Zealand region. Honeymark uses Manuka Honey in its skin care products, which is naturally produced by bees who gather nectar from the Manuka tree, indigenous to the pollution-free environment of New Zealand. Manuka Honey has special plant-derived components that make its effectiveness in skin care many times greater than standard types of honey. In addition to hydrogen peroxide, which is found in all types of honey, Manuka Honey’s unique components are Methylglyoxal and UMF. Manuka Honey also has a variety of nutrients and vitamins that contribute to its effectiveness in skin care.

Now that research and clinical studies have revealed that bacteria are the cause of infection and other skin conditions, Manuka Honey has become accepted as an extremely valuable resource. Manuka Honey has very powerful antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that create an environment that is impossible for bacteria to survive. Even the resilient MRSA bacterium has not been able to develop a resistance to Manuka Honey. This has become of increasing interest among medical professionals as Staph infections plague our hospitals and communities.

"Honeymark takes the sticky mess out of using honey topically on the skin," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "We import Manuka Honey from New Zealand and blend it into our medicated creams and lotions for a much more desirable and user-friendly application." Honeymark currently has Manuka Honey products that are effective in treating wounds, burns, eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, etc. Honeymark also plans on increasing their line of Manuka honey-based products later this year to include an acne cream, anti-aging serum, hand sanitizing gel, antiseptic spray, shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap and a moisturizer. Buonanotte has also indicated that the company is working on the development of facial masks and bandages that have Manuka Honey infused into a coconut fiber material that can be applied directly to the skin, allowing for more efficient diffusion into the depth of skin tissue.

The School Of Professional Makeup Partners With Proctor & Gamble, Wal-mart For Cosmetic Promotion

After choosing the right makeup school, one of the biggest challenges facing aspiring makeup artists is how to gain valuable industry experience. The old adage ‘practice makes perfect’ is especially applicable to those in the makeup arts. A good makeup school will offer it’s students fieldwork opportunities for exactly this reason, which is why The School of Professional Makeup leapt at the chance to work with some big players in the cosmetic industry.

Canadian fashion & style gurus Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman have been promoting products for a few years now. Recently, they’ve been hired on as spokespeople for Proctor & Gamble’s ‘Everything for the Family, Something Just for You’ program to share their knowledge and expertise of the fashion and beauty industries. The objective is to not only pitch Proctor & Gamble products, but to also raise money for various charities, which include the Canadian Cancer Society and the Children’s Miracle Network. Wal-Mart will play host to in-store events, giveaways and fundraisers. Both Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble are hoping to raise an estimated $460,000 for charity through this partnership, while also encouraging women to do something special for themselves at the same time. Shoppers will not only be introduced to the latest in health and beauty information, but also to a wide range of new P&G products.

The School of Professional Makeup was the only makeup school invited to participate in the most recent promotion, titled "5-Minute Oasis" with Olay. ‘Coincidentally, the advertising agency promoting the event, plus Chris Hyndman from The Designer Guys both approached me at the same time.’ Says Robert Closs, Founder and Managing Director. ‘They both felt that it might be a great idea for the school to get involved.’

With the theme being personal style, this was a live appearance with Steven & Chris on stage. A model was chosen from the audience, who then received a live makeover complete with Hollywood tips and tricks. Three students from The School of Professional Makeup were chosen to help out with the offstage makeovers. The offstage makeovers lasted on average about four hours, and included skin care analysis and recommendations, plus a mini makeover using Cover Girl products.

Shoppers were delighted to have the opportunity to take some time out for themselves. This not only translated into a wonderful opportunity for the aspiring makeup artists to gain some practical hands on experience, but it also represented the type of fieldwork opportunities The School of Professional Makeup looks for on behalf of their students.

‘Our school is known as ‘the industry school’, says Closs. ‘Our instructors are all working makeup artists, and this allows us to be connected to what’s happening in the industry. We make sure we pass these opportunities onto our students, so they can gain invaluable industry experience.’

‘This was a great opportunity for students to actually do something in the field.’ Says Lisa Mandel, an instructor at the school. ‘They’re excited to get the chance to actually see and apply what they’ve learned.’

Recent graduate Natalie Sanchez appreciated the chance to get out there and network. Networking and self-promotion is vital to any aspiring makeup artist - industry veterans estimate that eighty percent of jobs come through networking and self-promotion. ‘Through this gig I got the opportunity to meet many different people, it’s one of the best opportunities for networking.’ Says Sanchez. ‘Working with Rob and The Designer Guys made me realize first hand that this industry is so fast paced and diverse, and you can take it as far as you like depending on your own ambition.’

Previous fieldwork opportunities have included gigs for The Discovery Channel, The Miss Universe Canada Pageant, and the Miss Latina Canada swimsuit calendar, to name a few.

Concerned About Cosmetics Safety?

How do you know that the cosmetics you’re using are safe and won’t cause any reactions? How do you know they are safe? Find out about the types of cosmetics you should be using.

Are Cosmetics Safe?

In the United States, cosmetics are being used by teens at a younger and younger age, and cosmetic safety has become quite a problem.Cosmetics can become contaminated with bacteria that the brush or applicator sponge picks up from the skin. The top dangers of cosmetic use are wearing cosmetics to bed, sharing cosmetics, and aerosol fumes. Scratching yourself with a mascara wand is the number one injury caused by cosmetics and the scratches can become infected.

The most irritating ingredients in cosmetics are preservatives, fragrance, talc and dye. It is unfortunate that the preservatives which prevent bacterial growth are also very detrimental your skin.

It is not surprising, therefore, that there is an increased interest in organic and natural cosmetics. The two main categories of safer cosmetics are hypoallergenic cosmetics and mineral cosmetics.

Are Hypoallergenic Cosmetics the Solution?

Hypoallergenic cosmetics are products that makers claim cause fewer allergic reactions than other products, and they really are a help to those with sensitive skin. Hypoallergenic cosmetics contain a minimum of problem ingredients, such as preservatives and perfumes which will cause skin irritation and other allergic reactions.

However, there is a controversy surrounding the labeling of hypoallergenic cosmetics. Manufacturers of cosmetics labeled as hypoallergenic are not required to submit substantiation of their claims to the FDA, (Food and Drug Administration). For the past four years, the FDA has been working to clear up this confusion by establishing testing requirements that would indicate which products are truly hypoallergenic.

A cosmetic would be permitted to be labeled hypoallergenic only if scientific studies on human subjects showed that the product caused a significantly lower rate of adverse skin reactions than similar products. The manufacturers would be responsible for carrying out the required tests. UNfortunately the guidelines have not been finalized yet, and manufacturers may continue to label their cosmetics as hypoallergenic without any supporting evidence. Undoubtedly most products that claim to be hypoallergenic actually are, but be a perceptive consumer; read labels carefully, do some studying yourself, and do not rely solely on manufacturers claims.

Consumers concerned about allergic reactions from cosmetics should be aware that no cosmetic can be fully guaranteed against an allergic reaction. Even products that have organic ingredients can cause allergic reactions. If you have an allergy to certain plants or animals, then you may have an allergic reaction to cosmetics containing them.

If you experience an allergic reaction to a cosmetic, you should stop using all cosmetics until you and your dermatologist can find out which ingredient or combination of ingredients triggered the reaction. Even if you have used a special cosmetic for years with no problems, you may still develop an allergic reaction. This can occur as you become sensitized to one or more of the ingredients.

Why not try Mineral Cosmetics?

Mineral cosmetics are quickly moving out of dermatologist clinics and deluxe spas to a retailer near you. Certified organic products and non-toxic makeup are becoming more mainstream as they demonstrate that they are as effective as those of the leading cosmetic companies. Women who use mineral cosmetics are said to experience less break-outs as these cosmetics do not contain chemical preservatives.

This non artificial makeup is the simplest, most natural, and non-reactive form of cosmetic. Mineral cosmetics are made from minerals and inorganic pigments that exist in nature. Because it is not made from organic materials it cannot produce bacteria so there is no need to add chemical preservatives.

Endless combinations of beautifully colored minerals, such as zinc and iron oxides, mica, titanium dioxide, and ultramarine pigments are used. These can be combined to make every cosmetic from foundation to shimmer powder for the body, to eyeshadow . They are finely milled and purified then treated or coated with other pigments to create different colors and effects. Mica for example, is a transparent mineral which is mined from the earth in thin sheets. Using he mica mineral allows your natural skin tone shines through due to the sheer, translucent, and skin-hugging effect of it.

With mineral makeup you get all of the coverage, color, and sophistication, without the chemical preservatives, and dyes. Mineral foundation looks and feels much more pure, without sacrificing coverage. It allows the skin to breathe while protecting all skin types. The light mineral powders let skin breathe naturally and will not settle into pores. If you’ve ever had trouble finding a foundation that matches your skin tone or locating that correct eyeshadow color, you will love mineral cosmetics.

Applying Makeup - How To Apply Makeup

Applying makeup is a great art. A good make up complement your personality and highlights your best features. Here are few tips about how to apply makeup

You have just seen Jennifer Lopez on the front page of a fashion magazine and simply love her look. Now you want to copy the same look and get the same dewy, glowing complexion. Well you can now make this a very real possibility by mastering techniques at applying makeup.

Flawless complexion
It’s amazing how no matter how good your clothes maybe, it is your skin that gets noticed first. In fact, someone has rightly said that beautiful skin does not even need jewelry to complement it - it shines even without it. Once you know the secrets of how to apply makeup, you can highlight your best features and transform your face into a work of art.

Eye makeup
They say eyes are the window to our soul. Eyes speak volumes about us, our personality and our nature. Through techniques in applying makeup to the eyes, you can give yourself a smoked, sultry look or an angelic look or even prep yourself up for a party in the evening! Here are some tips for apply makeup techniques to the eyes in the best way:

1. Choice of color: The kind of colors you choose for the eyes will determine the entire look. Nude colors like beige, cream, soft brown are great for office and daytime wear while colors like golden, silver and bronze are more adventurous and go well for a night out in town. If you want to add a touch of mystery, try going for a smoky look by opting for colors like black and darker shades of brown.

2. How to apply makeup: Firstly, you need to apply a think layer of foundation over your eyelids. You then need to apply a bit of concealer under the eyes to camouflage fine lines and wrinkles. Then apply a coat of eye shadow primer - starting from the eyelash to the eyebrow. This will ensure your eye makeup stays longer. Take three shades of the same color. Firstly choose the medium color and apply it from your eyelashes till the crease.

Then use an eyeliner (darker shade of the same color) to make a line just along your eyelashes. Use the darkest color shade to go over this eyeliner line. Then prep the portion above the eye crease with the lightest shade of the color. For the space under the eyebrow, use a shimmery shade of the same color. Finish the makeup application by blending the colors on the eyelid thoroughly to avoid any unsightly lines.

For acne and pimples
It’s funny how our pimples seem to pop up just when we are getting ready for a party. However through the art of applying makeup you can hide almost all scars and blemishes most effectively. Here are some tips to get started:

1. Type of makeup: Nowadays you will find plenty of reputed makeup brands, which have ingredients, which actually fight bacteria and diminish acne. Using such brands can help you combat acne and make you look good.

2. How to apply makeup: For acne prone areas, you will first need to prep up your face with the help of a foundation. You can choose from stick, liquid or pancake versions too. Make sure to blend in the foundation thoroughly along the hairline and the jaw line. Then apply concealer to the areas that have acne. Again, make sure to blend it in well. One of the tricks to successfully applying makeup is to blend it in very well. Finish off the makeup application with a translucent powder. Just dab it on the face and blend it in well.

Tips for applying makeup when you have contact lenses
If you have contact lenses but love to wear makeup, then here are some techniques to apply makeup correctly:

1. Always wear your contact lenses first and then start to apply your makeup
2. Apply eye makeup very less as it can irritate the eyes
3. Use eye makeup that is fragrance free and free from any oil
4. Use a non-oil based mascara which is also water proof. This will prevent any chances of flaking
5. Be sure to replace old mascara and eye makeup with fresh stock every 6 months. This will help prevent any contamination

Learn About The Latest Trends In Cosmetics Now

Learn About The Latest Trends In Cosmetics Now
The days of bright blue eye shadow and slathered on blush are gone with the wind! If you are in desperate need of a make up freshen up, consider these hot trends in cosmetics. These latest colors, tips, and techniques are just what anyone needs to update a look or make the change into a new season. Remember that your cosmetics do have an expiration date, so keep this in mind when shopping for new make up. With each season, carefully look through your make up kit and discard any items that are outdated. This is critical, especially with eye make up that can expire and potentially cause painful infections. Also, remember not to share your make up with anyone else to prevent spread of germs and infection.

Today’s latest trends in cosmetics reflect the fashion trendsshimmer and shine! From super glossy lip gloss to candy like eye make up with glitter to make your eyes truly pop. This trend only applies to eyes, lips, and nails, however, since cream and matte finishes is hot for foundations, powders, and blush. In addition to shimmer and shine, the color of eye and lip make up is quite subtle. Gone are the vibrant colors and eye popping shades of eye shadow. Instead, pale browns, ivories, grays, tans, and other natural colors are all the rage. Lip shades are also a bit more subdued, with a nude lip or a sheer pink gloss being incredibly hot.

Lipstick is out today, with lip gloss taking over the first place in purses all over the country. These lip glosses are made in every color under the sun and many mimic the appearance of lipstick with a much smoother and glossier look. For individuals looking to care for their lips and enjoy that terrific nude lip look, consider using a simple hydrating stick. The all natural brand, Bert’s Bees, produces a phenomenal product that can be applied under a gloss or used by itself.

The days of pressed powder may be numbered; as today’s hot products include cream powders that go on thick but dries sheer and ultra light. This option is great for individuals who would like a bit more coverage than pressed powder offers, but do not want to deal with the mess and hassle of using foundation. Another popular trend along this line is the cream blush, which also goes on like a cream but dries a powder. Also, cream blushes prevent that unnatural coloring that appears on many women’s cheeks.

Mineral Powder Makeup - Does It Really Help Improve Your Looks?

If a makeup is said to be in its most natural form, then it must be a mineral powder makeup. Mineral makeup contains no talc, oils, dyes, fillers, or any harmful chemicals that can leave your skin dull and lifeless. This type of makeup contains nothing else but pigment minerals such as titanium oxide and zinc oxide. These are naturally occurring compounds that won’t cause allergies on your face or block the pores of your skin. Mineral makeup is lightweight and fresh. And it can make you look gorgeous minus the nightmares associated with conventional makeup.

Mineral powder makeup is a natural product that can provide long-lasting, full coverage all the time, every time. When compared to liquid foundation, its effects are the same. However, it isn’t as messy as the liquid variants. It won’t cake on your face nor will it cause skin breakouts. Basing on those facts alone, you can see that this type of makeup is way better than the most popular liquid foundations.

Aside from full coverage, the minerals contained in this makeup can also protect your face from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Zinc oxide, which is usually the main ingredient, is also known for its anti-inflammatory property. As such, it can help speed up the healing process of acnes and blemishes on your face. And because mineral power makeup doesn’t contain talc, it won’t dry out your skin either. Instead, it would work to retain the moisture of the skin.

While mineral makeup maybe a little too expensive than regular ones, its health benefits should be good enough to answer for the extra dollars. Also, a thin coating of mineral makeup is enough to cover your entire face. On that note, it can be considered economical and worth your money. Just apply several downward strokes on your face and you should be good the entire day. There’s no need to reapply makeup as these ones tend to last longer. Mineral makeup is perfect for people on the go.

Mineral powder makeup is currently sold in variety of types and shades. Check it out at online shops and beauty outlets to see the wide array of mineral makeup available to you. Aside from foundations, there are also bronzers, eye shadows, and blush-on up for sale. They come in either glossy or matte finish. This makeup doesn’t run and is perfect for both the cold and the humid weathers.

How To Apply Natural Mineral Makeup To Bring Out Your Flawless Beauty

The basics of your flawless beauty begins with a clean, healthy and even-toned complexion. First, lets deal with clean skin. Dirt, oils and dead skin cells can greatly affect the way the appearance of healthy skin looks. So step one begins with a good loofah or pair of showering gloves. While in the shower, let your facial skin absorb the heat from the shower. After about 5 minutes, the steam will soften the skin’s outer layer which allows for easy removal of the surface dead cells.

Caution: Do not over scrub with the showering gloves or loofah, this can leave the skin red and irritated. The skin should be gently touched. A little practice and you will have it down.

After gently using the showering gloves, apply your favorite cleansing scrub to remove any surface dead skin cells that still remain. Applying the scrub in the warm shower or just after the shower (with the steam still in the bathroom) will help add moisture back into your skin.

The dead skin cells on the surface of your face can greatly dull your facial appearance. By not properly removing these dead surface cells, your skin’s texture will attract even more dirt and oil. It also blocks oils from getting out of your skin naturally. White bumps can result from not exfoliating your skin regularly. The white bumps can be from a collection of oils that are trapped under the dead surface skin. By gently removing the surface dead skin while showering, you brighten your complexion while letting your skin breath and exfoliate naturally. This applies to your whole body as well. To see if all dead skin cells are removed, feel your skin with your fingers (without gloves on) and it should feel smooth and clean. If your skin doesn’t feel completely smooth and clean, place a small amount of exfoliating cleanser on your hands and in a gentle circular motion apply it to your skin. Any left over dead surface skin that the gloves didn’t remove will be exfoliated with the cleanser.

problemm skin BE GONE!

acne needs to be addressed and defeated to pursue your flawless beautiful look. Start with good and reputable products and design your own acne solution System that fits you and your lifestyle. I have found that Proactiv has a wonderful treatment for problem skin . It works fast and is very gentle. I still use it to keep that radiant glow to my skin even though I don’t have acne anymore. Proactive also has a money back guarantee so if you find that it doesn’t work for you just send it back. It’s the best that I have found but the key issue is to find one that will work for you and fits in with your daily routine.

Dark spots need to be lightened so that your overall color blends flawlessly. Dark spots can come from exposure to the sun, genetics and a multitude of other ways. Lightening them up will make your overall color of your face blend and radiate with youthfulness. Preventing dark spots is much easier than correcting them. If you are prone to dark spots try preventing them, especially in the places you don’t want them…cheeks forehead or any "open" area of the skin….use sunscreen everyday. mineral makeup has natural sunscreen in it..zinc oxide. Remember zinc on the nose at the beach?

Wrinkles are less noticeable if they are well hydrated. Always apply plenty of quality eye moisturizer around the eyes or any wrinkle prone area.

Freckles can be concealed by using the mineral concealer BEFORE applying the foundation. This way you can lighten them up to your desired amount without looking made up. When the foundation is then applied it will have the effect of evening out your complexion for your beautiful flawless look.

Now you have the knowledge to get your complexion cleared up which will give you an even base to apply natural mineral makeup.

ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS:

Natural Mineral makeup should only include cosmetic grade ingredients and are of the highest quality. Here are some of the natural ingredients and what they do:

INCI or CI for short: International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient Name

Sericite (Mica): (CI77019) : This is a colorless powder (sometimes grayish) that is widely used as a base in mineral makeup. It has a low luster, can reflect light, adds slip (the way it feels smooth on your skin) and shine to the oxides and micas. It also reduces the appearance of fine lines, enlarged pores & winkles due to the reflecting light capabilities. It has a very soft and silky feeling. NOTE: Winkles can greatly be reduced by a good moisturizer. Let the moisturizer dry completely before applying the minerals.

Titanium Dioxide: (CI77891) : Titanium Dioxide is one of the main minerals used in foundations, blushes, eye shadows, liners due to its super whitening effect. It adds adhesion to the mineral formulations (micas and oxides combinations). It provides an excellent natural sunscreen and produces a natural finish. Safe for use on eyes, face, lips and nails.

Zinc Oxide: (CI77947) : Zinc Oxide is used as a sunscreen in cosmetics & lotions. It has a super strength against UV-A and UV-B light. It soothes irritated skin and provides a high degree of coverage and adhesion in the mineral makeup.

Kaolin Clay: Kaolin Clay is a fluffy, white clay. It absorbs oil 1 and 1/2 times its weight and tones down mica and oxide pigments. Step #2: Gently shake the excess minerals from the brush. This will take away any excess minerals from the brush so that only a thin layer will be applied - giving you a natural look.

Step #3: The last step is to apply the minerals on your skin. Apply the minerals to your face in small circular motions with the brush in an upward and outward pattern.

Note: After the foundation and concealer have been applied, use an even smaller amount for the more concentrated minerals. This will lighten the dark circles, freckles & any uneven tones in the skin which will creates a beautiful smooth and sheer finish for your face when the foundation is applied.

Hint #2: If you seem to keep getting a heavy powdered look, there are a couple of things you can do. First, try using less minerals on the brush at one time. You should not be able to see the minerals on the brush before you apply it to your skin. Extra foundation layers can always be added if the coverage is not enough after the first thin layer. Secondly, your skin may need a good moisturizer before you apply the minerals. Make sure you let the moisturizer dry completely before you apply the minerals or it will not give you the sheer look that you want. Thirdly, make sure your skin is free from excess old dead skin. A good loofa or showering gloves will work just fine. Lastly, you can try applying the minerals wet. Take a few drops of water or your favorite lotion and add a small sprinkle of foundation to the mix. Apply to the face and let dry. buff off excess with a cosmetic sponge. This can give you a beautiful powder free matte look.

Have fun experimenting with mineral makeup and remember that natural mineral makeup is very versatile. Blushes can be used for shadows and shadows for blushes etc. Your creations with the minerals are endless!

Makeup Beauty Tips

Here are some tips for applying makeup that you can use to enhance your looks and feel great.

Makeup Beauty Tips According to archaeological evidence, cosmetics have been in use since 4,000 BC in Ancient Egypt. It was also used by the Ancient Greeks and the Romans. Through the medieval age, the use of cosmetics in the West was usually confined to the upper classes. Cosmetics were also widely used in what is known today as Iran as well as the Middle East.

Hence, as is evident, all through the ages women have contrived various means and ways to enhance their appearance. They experimented with a variety of lotions and potions to improve and preserve their beauty. This age we live in is the era of vivacity, energy, and youthful looks. In fact, both men and women want to look their best in order to project an attractive personality. These days, appearance plays an important role, both in the workplace as well as in social gatherings. Looking your best can be a confidence booster, for this is the age of the smart and the beautiful.

Every woman has attributes and qualities that are unique and beautiful. The makeup beauty tips given below will help in highlighting the plus points, enhancing them so that they can be noticed.

First, after cleansing your skin, apply a moisturizer. Your skin requires the extra moisture. Then, choosing the right kind of foundation is the next step for getting a beautiful makeover. Most women’s skin is yellow-based, including most Caucasians, Latin Americans, Asians and Africans. However, most foundations available in the market are orange or pink toned. Hence, women using these foundations usually end up with an artificial look. You need to choose a foundation that has a yellow base in order to create the naturally flawless look.

The best way to put on the foundation is to dot your chin, cheeks, nose and forehead with small amounts of it. Then, using a slightly damp cloth or a sponge, smoothen the foundation over your face, blending it well into the skin. Pay particular attention to the jaw line, chin, and hairline. Always smoothen the foundation in an upward motion.

Use a concealer to cover blemishes on the skin. Liquid concealers are the best for using under the eyes to conceal dark circles and on dry skin. Solid concealers, on the other hand, are used to hide scars, pimples, and acne. These are available as sticks and hence can be used directly on the spot where it is required. If you have a sensitive skin, use concealers that have mineral colors.

When applying your eye shadow, remember to always begin with the highlighter shade. Brush it on under the outer edge of the eyebrows and blend it toward the inner edge of the eyebrows. Then, apply the eye shadow, starting at the center of the eyelids.

The key to creating sparkling eyes is using eye shadows that are light in color such as beige, mauve, brown or vanilla. You can also play around with the undertone shades of your skin by opting for colors like olive, gold, gray or purple. If you want to be adventurous, why not try tan, bronze or any of the shimmering translucent powders. Or, you could even combine two colors to create a layered look. By all means experiment, but make sure not to overdo it.

After the eye shadow, apply mascara. In fact, one of the best ways to add a dramatic effect to the eyes is by using mascara. Use clear mascara or a shade of brown to achieve the no makeup look. Curl your eyelashes to get that innocent wide-eyed look. However, you need to curl the eyelashes before applying mascara, and also it is not advisable to curl the lower lashes as they tend to fall off.

When choosing lipstick, take into consideration the color of your hair. Orange shades, for example, go very well with dark hair. Scarlet shades are great with blonde hair, and pink shades look lovely with grey hair. Use a lip liner to define your mouth, reshape your lips, and even to correct uneven shapes. Plus, a lip liner will prevent the lipstick from bleeding, and if you fill your lips with it before applying the lipstick, it will make the lipstick last longer.

And as a finishing touch brush on a blush. The best way to choose a color is to find one that is about the same shade as your skin when it is flushed, say after exercising. You could slap your cheek lightly to get the color and use it as a guide. Or, you could use a blush that matches your lipstick. Rose looks great with fair color, peach shades with olive skin, and an apricot shade with dark skin. If you have dry skin use a cream based blush, and if your skin is oily, gel and liquid blushes are great. For a more luminous result, you could combine the two.

The cult of looking beautiful is not the prerogative of the privileged women any longer. Using cosmetics to enhance one’s looks is not a luxury but a social fact today. It has become a priority for most women on the move in the social scale of success. Makeup is about your looks, your face, your style, your aspirations. It is about women enhancing, changing, and discovering their hidden potential. It is about a woman saying, "Look at me - I am beautiful!"
